Made it to Elkhart with no drama...then everything goes down hill from there.
Saturday, the cops were sitting at the front gate of RA (Road America) most of the day. There were the few brave (stupid?) souls that would go out and pull wheelies right in front of the cops. They didn't do anything...unless it was a purely stupid act.
Then, just as it's getting dark, we decided to go for a little ride into town. I had the wheelie itch all day, but I was sure if I did, they would make an example of me. So, I pull out of the campground, and the face shield on my helmet starts to clear up from the dew. I thought...perfect time to do a wheelie...right? Don't ya know...nice second gear, held it for a bit, and set it down right at the back end of a cop pulling out from the other gate. A couple hundred feet down the road, lights come on. I was told it probably wasn't the best idea to pull a wheelie right in front of a cop, even though they had been doing it all day long. The supervisor showed up, kind of appologized, then explained that the ticket I was getting was only a county ordinance citation. No points, but $289! OUCH!
Well, if that weren't enough... Today (sunday), it starts raining just as we get things packed up. I decide to wait it out, and hope for the rain to stop and maybe go see the races. In the mean time, we went and bought some rain gear just in case I might have to ride home in the rain. What do ya know...it stopped raining, and we watched the last 3 races of the day. Just leaving Elkhart, and beautiful blue skies.
Just as I passed Sun Prairie, the sky started to darken pretty quick, and I caught a few drops. As I got on the Interstate, it looked like I might outrun it. Cleared up right until I hit the beltline...then down the rain came. Then, to add insult to injury, they had two lanes of the off ramp at Verona Road closed off, so I got to sit in traffic (in the rain) for 20 minutes. Just as I get home, I'm soaked, and the sun starts to poke out of the clouds. Get to the garage, small puddle in front of the door...no big deal, right? Wrong! Trying to step over it as I back the bike into the garage, my hand slips on the wet grips, and down she goes. No damage to the plastic, but the brake lever looks like the end of a candy cane.
Oh, will the fun never cease?!

Eric......that sux about the ticket. I didn't hear about that one yet. Kind of a crazy non-typical year at Elkhart........cool wet weather all weekend. I did have fun tearing **** up on the road with the 400EX though! Thankfully no tickets!

Minus the bikes, collegiate water ski tournaments in the Midwest can hold a candle....
The partying is a little more crazy and the chicks are way hotter than those heffers that were on the flatbed. But the only thing we have for entertainment turning the day is the girls jump crashes and the good guys that can jump 100+. But as I said, alas, there are no bikes, just boats.
Enough about water skiing on the stunt forum...
I'm gonna need to start to learn to wheelie soon... after watching this weekends events, I've definately got the itch!!!
One last thing... any objections on changing from newgirl to vmcgirl?
