Went to the AMA Arenacross in Rockford last night. [rant]Went to the CCE run AMA Arenacross tonight in ROckford, IL. My first time actually at a live dirtbike racing event. Took my camera (Nikon D70) to take pictures also. Then I was told that I cant take pictures with a "professional camera". If I wanted to use a "professional camera" I had to get a permit from the pit pass trailer. There were no signs up at any entrance stating this, just signs stating no video cameras. Either dont worry about what kind of camera someone has, or just outright ban every camera. Already fired off an email to CCE's AX Sr Director of Events about this. This will be the LAST arenacross event I go to.[/rant]
Oh and about how the races went, well lets say watching the scooter races we had a few years ago at BHF were more exciting. The 65cc kid racers were more fun to watch than the big bikes or the freestyle competition. Fast guys were doing 25-28 sec laps.

rob---i hear ya...it's GAYYYYYYYYYYY and i believe clear channel had something to do with this??? if so...i did a show in la crosse with the d-aces a while back and we couldn't even film our OWN stunts!!! clear channel is extremely gay like that....

Which I find ironic since Clear Channel also owned CCS (until the end of this year if rumors are correct). Its not like I was out on the dirt taking pics. I was behind the scorers tables in the stands.

arena cross is like soap opera for the pros, they even stage little pissy fights... now the amatures or fun to watch cause those guys are in it to win it...

Yeah, I agree, even though I am a big fan of the dirt bike scene, I always go to the amatuer day, it is way better to watch than the pros.
It is just more fun, the guys out there are just like us, out there havin' fun.
