the frame/subframe/swingarm is powdercoated black, so they painted the fork tubes black

Re: Indianapolis Ride

i see....it's all clearing up for me.

have you tried doing anything to the left? i'm wondering if RL to the right might be easier with the stance and such. seems like when i try them to the left my clutch/brake hand is cramped since i'm leaning up that direction on the bike.

Re: Indianapolis Ride

i have gotten like 1 full SS o to the left... thats about it... dont really try it much to the left since i do everything to the right... took forever to learn O's to the left on the 50 back in the day.

started working on stepping up to frog in circles tonight... i got almost 2 full frog o's in, but must have tried 100 times

Re: Indianapolis Ride

ohh yeah... main thing to remember is to pull the bars in to your chest, and keep it there (youll be surprised how much that helps) for RL o's

Re: Indianapolis Ride

ya, those put a lot of stress on my hands and i haev trouble covering the clutch while working the brake. i really don't want to take my finger off that clutch (fear of being ejected from bike), but it's hard to hold on like that in frog.

Re: Indianapolis Ride

Re: Indianapolis Ride

You guys wanna hear a funny story?

So yeah.. Learn from me. Don't ride your motorcycle when you're really angry. Yeah it helps work away some of that stress.. But you get pissed off and get brave and I personally 12'd a wheelie and bam. This happens

Size: 69.7 KB
Name: SD530157.jpg

I don't really remember everything that happened.. but I had been riding out my wheelies most of the night, and this particular one, I 12'd and I thought it was going to loop, so I backed off the throttle.. and apparently I did it too much, the front of the bike slammed down, and I guess the sheer force made me bounce up on the tank and over I went. Face first, literally. My helmet is completely junk. It's broke in three or four places. You can see the marks from the parking lot on my screen, too.

Now thank GOD I was wearing a brainbucket. I would probably be dead if I wasn't. I don't really care to know. But anyway.. I went UP in the wheelie at like.. 40-50mph.. no clue how fast I was going when I landed.. But as soon as I did.. I saw the bike was still going.. and I screamed "Grab the bike!!" and they just barely missed it.. it dropped at a very very slow speed and the only damage it did was breaking the bar end off. No big deal.

Anyway, it looks like I'm out of commision in riding for a while. Atleast till I get another helmet and some ******* leathers. If I had them.. I wouldn't have the rash I do. I have a lot more than the pictures show.. but that's the worst of it.

Oh well. Live n' learn. No I'm not going to quit doing it..

Re: Indianapolis Ride

OUUUUUUUUUCH........... Glad you had some gear on man..... sounds to me like you stabbed the brake, which is common in learning....

kinda ironic this happened, a buddy corey just looped his yesterday! but he wasn't mad......... he just came back, got scared and jumped, which is also common.....

That rash is gonna suck.... i'm getting teary eyed looking at it, but it could of been worse........

Re: Indianapolis Ride

That actually WAS a clutch up. I'm just so new to this that I can slow it down a little.. maybe 5 mph... But I'm only rockin like 10:30-11's till I get close to redline and roll out of it.

Sucks 'cuz I'm just now riding the wheelies out. Thanks for that goes to Chuck and Eric over at VL.. 'Cuz I was barely gettin' the front up when I rode with them. They told me what I was doing wrong.. and as Eric says.. I'm not being a '*****' anymore..

haha dick.

Who knows! But I want to ride tonight!

EDIT: I think I just typed something wrong last in the last post. I was in the wheelie at 40-50, I didn't take it up at that speed. My bad.

Yeah I will be at our show Sat in Greensburg, IN otherwise I would make it down. Paul I am with you about covering the handbrake after the clutch up. I forget what a clutch is anymore I use the handbrake so much.
