[QUOTE=binder929rr;2606335]turn that FN idle down! i hate high idlers on coasters....

well its a little easier learning them with ur idle up since u are standing in the seat and the whole engine brake thing and a mouse trap thing so ill keep practin them with my idle up for now thanks

makes sence to me.... other than that id dont see how idle would affect a coaster since you have the clutch pulled in, but what do i know i cant do them

good come back paul.... ******....

wouldn't the engine break work better with the idle down? I can't do them either, but i've always heard to have the idle down for the engine break in case you needed it..........

Re: I know its cold but is anyone riding this weekend?

that also makes sence too chuck, but Fuzz is talking about the engine brake slamming the front down (with idle up it wouldnt) and you dont need the engine brake to save you 9remember we all rock HB's this day in age ) i think id rather try w/ my idle up since i think about it, but i need to get my HB bled out better, cause it wont even get me off the bar on SS EVEN GRABBING A HANDFULL.... (i know i know dont tell me how i need to learn engine brake either )

that's more of why i was saying you'd want the engine brake, if your hb won't get you off the bar... but yeah, i didn't even think about the hb in general, you know, cause i use mine all the time , getting there though, this next session will be a good one....

put your bike on a rear stand, put in 1st gear and pull the clutch start turning your idle up and youll notice the rear wheel spins faster, just because the clutch is pulled in doesnt mean the bike still wont pull, thats why its easier to learn coasters with your idle up. thank you thank you

if your wheel still spins with the clutch pulled in you need to adjust that ****

yeah but even with the clutch pulled in there is still some kinda centifugal movement gettin ttransfered through the driveline. thats why rev limiter coasters are somewhat "easy" as long as you dont let that clutch out to early.

think of when you drop your bike and its on its side for a long time... when u pick it back up the clutches will drag. same when you have old as oil in your bike.

the reason you dont move when your stopped is cause A. the weight of the bike is heavier than the force of the drive train when the clutch is pulled in and B. cause you prolly have your brakes pulled in.
you cant adjust anything to make your wheel stop spinning when you pull the clutch in, you can adjust both bottom and top adjusters and nothings going to happen, like vetter said when you rev limit coasters it keeps you back

if its dragging or pulling the bike when your at a stand still than yes something needs to be adjusted, but free wheel spin is normal

Re: I know its cold but is anyone riding this weekend?

have to agree with B on the free wheel spin, but didn't think it would be enough to make any difference at all in a coaster, but who knows, my manpon hasn't dried out yet and i'm not doing them...............

Re: I know its cold but is anyone riding this weekend?

it doesnt have a lot to do with coasters but will help out a little, wha

what works even better is too pull in the clutch for coaster hold the throttle wide open and let go of the clutch i garantee perfection, after you try it let me know how well it looks.... holla:YEAH
