Legends of Lafayette.....
It is at this time I am disclosing an email I received from the great MaxSpeed himself. It is with somewhat of a heavy heart I am forwarding the following:
Taking the bike into Action here in about a week to have a check up done on it, getting any adjusting and tweaking that it needs.
Then I'm taking a picture of her and putting her in the trader. Let me know if you know anyone that might be interested in it. Been a great bike , gonna ask $4500 obo. Title is clear.
Maintenance on that thing is a long list to include the little touches that I've HAD to add.
New parts:
OEM clutch friction plates
OEM clutch steels
OEM clutch center ( the entire hub )
Barnett racing Clutch springs (stiff)
clutch bolts
waterpump impeller
waterpump impeller bearings-----------------
waterpump impeller compression seal------These just fit around impeller shaft to seal
OEM Valves intake and exhaust on front and rear head
OEM Valve guides intake and exhaust front and rear head
OEM Valve stem seals intake and exhaust front and rear head
HRC Valve springs (small inner and large outer) intake and exhaust front and rear head
OEM cam-chain tensioners front and rear head
mild head porting intake and exhaust side. (stone knurled and flow matched 15 cfm avg increase)
new cooland 300 miles ago with "Engine Ice"
Hyperpro CSC steering dampner (machined chrome) $800 piece
K&N Stage 1 power kit:
Air Filter
Smog port block off kit (in airbox-for emissions snoopers)
Level 2 Jet kit installed (with larger and smaller jets, needles, and springs will go too)
Afam front sprocket ( -1 tooth )
Carbon Fiber:
Front Fender
Bar ends
Triple Tree cover
Gauge Trim
Licence Plate trim (I'll even throw in the chrome skulls 50 hp gain)
Carbonfiber tank bra - Lockhart Racing
Light smoke tint windshield
Chrome wheels
Chrome Stator cover
Chrome Clutch housing
Chrome water pump cover
Powdercoated "mirror silver" Valve Covers
Full fiberglass lower fairing
Front end stand (lifts from triple tree so you can remove forks)
Swingarm Stand
2 rear tires (race slicks-track takeoffs)
I'd like to see it stay around here....I've taken VERY good care of it maintenance wise and cosmetically , always garage kept. I think it might even have some kind of historic value at this point too. You or someone interested can call me on my cell

Re: Legends of Lafayette.....
It is also with a heavy heart that I am selling my bike It's been a great run, but it's time for the cowbike to find another pasture. I've done everything from to needing and I almost don't want to sell it, but I think it's time. There's no doubt about it, that thing is super . I will post pics later this week, I should have made it like this a loooooooooonnnnnnnnnggggggggggggggggg time ago. I'm looking at it now thinking.... :YEAH
The final stats are as follows:
Year: 1997 (Bought new in 2000)
Make: Suzuki (duh, as if there were anything else) GSXR 750
Mileage: 24995 with complete factory overhaul under warranty @ 22800
Title: Clear
Frame: Straight except for that little steering damper peg (slightly bent)
I finally decided that my heart was with some speed (read:gixxer thou), so a few months back I sold it and am just finishing up with how the customer wants it to look.
Attached is a picture of it just a few weeks after I purchased it, about May of 2000

Yeah, that was the one.......I was leading that one out, needless to say I wasn't happy about it, but I had a feeling earlier that night that someone was going down. I hate those feelings.

Are you kidding?! Before bling was a word, that superhawk 996 was IT! Toolkit in the trunk?, maybe, but always a terrycloth and some wax/polish. Chris is one of the few originals still left. I'm really suprised at his decision to sell this..... One would have thought a loss of limb would be less painful.

All these silly farmers are coming in to AGROKEY and wanting Fertilizer and stuff..... sheesh! Who would have thought?!
Let me know a good time to meet up, I'm still pretty busy cranking out GSXR's when I'm not BAJAing my Floater....
Oh, and I guess you will still be around for my birthday, so I guess you could get me something....... We'll probably have another b-day cookout, so hope to see you there.
