Oil Pickup Mod For Gixxers
A while back one of you guys posted somthing about an oil pickup mod for next gen gixxers. Had a pic of you doing a burnout with the bike on the bar. Do you still sell that mod or know how to rig somthing up?

YES!! the mod just points the oick up to the back of the oil pan more, NO oil light in the 12 position, but when you do a long stoppie the light does come on, but the engine is at idel, were as when in the 12, your (I'm) on the gas to keep the bike sliding, or doing a burn out. I can get you this mod, but it might take some time because I'm now making one for my Honda 929, and probably all my team mates. Me and Rich (who does not ride anymore) made this mod, he might have another one made for sale? He also made one for Shaggy D...aka Danny of sportbikehype, I think he still rides for them?? for his gixxer 600. There are other modes you MUST do to the air box after instalation so you do not hydrolock the engine, but thats not that hard. Later "BIG" Phil

I had to remove side and lower plastics, drain oil, stand the bike up on the 12 bar, remove the 4 bolts of the exhaust just after the header (the part that covers the oil pan) and move it out of the way, then remove oil pan, take out stock pick up, put in mod pick up, and install everything in reverse order as removed. Thats it, I'm sliding the 12 as far as I want, just like the old gixxer 1000 which is for $ale, by the way.....

As much as I hate to say it, the 929 feels like the better stunt bike. When 12-ing the gixxer it felt "heavy" like the center point of the bike is more toward the front wheel, and seems to make the bike feel like it wants to fall over more. And I think on the 929 the center of gravity is closer to the rear tire making it feel more stable, easier, I wish that I started my stunting on the 929, after getting on the 929 after about 2 weeks, I was rolling 12's slower, and more stable than I feel I ever had??????????? go figure.

If I can find the time I can make you one I'll have to think of a price. Materials, and time involed in making them. Suzuki GSXR 600, 750, and 1000 2000-2002, and honda 929 2000-2001, is what I have made so far. As for other bikes I would have to have the bike to custom make one for that bike.

I have found that you only need to do anything to the airbox if your going to do any 12 burn outs for long (1 min +) periods of time. you need to run the crank case breather tubes to an aux. bottle, and not to the air box. When the rpm's go up the crank pressure goes up and forces oil into the air box, thats bad, can you say hydrolock? So with the bottle the oil goes there, and not into the airbox. I just took my oil pick up out of the 1000, and put it in the 600 that David has. I'm working on a design that will be much better than what I'm using now, I hope to not have the oil light come on in a 12, and while doing long 500 + foot stoppies, That my friends will be the shiznit! I can make pick ups for the honda 929, and gsxr 2001-2002 600 750 1000, thats what I have made pickups for so far, so I'm not sure about other models untill I can look into the oil pan. So if any one has those year bikes I can make you one, your oil light WILL come on in a stoppie, but WILL NOT come on in a 12. I also overfill the oil one to one& a half quarts, top of the glass with the bike on its kick stand. $50 to $75 dollars is what I'm thinking, the 929 is a little harder to make than the gixxers.
