Hey SL, I just dropped an F4i motor into my F4, I kept the carbs and F4 Harness. I read all over the web that the only difference between F4 and F4i is the fuel injection... Its a lil more though. I'm gonna be hooking up all the hoses and stuff soon, but I have a few things I ran into and need some tech support.

1)The stator is dif. I think cuz the plugs are dif.

2)The thermostat housing has a censor that the F4 doesnt and its a lil dif.

3)Do i need to re-jet it? (Carbs)

4)Will the F4 ECU and F4 Harness run the F4i motor?

I thought this was gonna be an easy swap but idk, this stuff popped up on me and I feel like bailing out on the project

Ive heard of people trying to put f4i throttle bodies on f4's but never vise versa,haha. save up some $$ and get f4i TB's, ecu, wire harness and gas tank

Wait a second, you got a bare F4i motor, but threw carbs on it?
Dude, you need to do it right, first off, the heads are different, so you would need the heads off of the F4. Second, get a service manual and sort out all the wiring differences. Third, you're wasting your time because you will probably never make it run 100%.

I think i might just end up selling the motor and waiting for an f4 motor to come along.

Good idea... They use the same block, but aside from that, there are a few changes that will give you a headache trying to figure out.
