I can't find a used name brand welder for anywhere under $350 up here. Except stick welders. I've been looking for a couple years.

It's either this or taking my steel to my buddy half an hour away every time I need something welded. I'd still take anything that needed to be done well to him. I wonder if you could run this off an extension cord. I have a 50' 12ga extension cord.
flux cores good for welding when its windy When i switched mine to gas and got it dialed in, the difference was night and day(a cloudy day though).

is it a good brand or chinese? if its a good brand might as well get it. 12 ga is fine

chicago electric??

btw mine is the same physical size, (or close to it) as many of lincolns 110 volt welders. i can carry it with one arm if i had to. you wouldnt need a big garage for it, just a 220 electrical outlet and a custom extension cord. remember a 220 welder will only require half the amperage of a 110 to do that same job. And as you know its the current that melts wiring, not voltage, so you could get away with 12 gauge cord and still weld heavier stuff.

when i see one, i'll slow down and look for tools. if i see anything that looks promising i'll go back and look. like i said before, all i ever found were old wrenches and screwdrivers, or k mart tool sets

Jobsmart. Tractor Supply branded chinese crap. It's $129 brand new. I figure it's the same as the harbor freight ones.

It's my budget holding me back. I don't really have a need for it, but I'd like to have one.
