So it's not actually 5" longer than the stock 636 correct? Just 5" longer than F4I?

Stock cables work just fine for the db setup. Route the cable over the front of the tank before the bars.

F4i and 03/04 636 stock cables are 43 inches

and this one is 48 inches, so for either bike it will be a 5 inch gain
