Got most of the way through building a tubular steel subframe for my R6 and gave up only to buy an aftermarket unit. This subframe currently allows the tank to bolt on...it doesn't really need much else welded up, but I give up at this point. Would be a perfect person who has a welder and wants to save some money on a stunt subframe. My R6 is an 03 also. You will need to provide your own rubber grommets/sleeve for the tank hinge...
