Re: Manny from Team Outermost's Hand Brake Setup

I've got my clutch master cylinder on the way and a new rear brake master cylinder (so if i F up tapping it i still have a brake) on the way now all i need is the lines. Where do you guys get your lines. I don't wanna spend $100 on a friggin brake line. I don't really see the point in getting braided unless its cheap, i know it doesn't expand like a rubber line but eh, all my other lines are rubber, including the one from the rear mc to the caliper so i don't see the reason for braided. Where can I buy this stuff at a reasonable price?

take a regular open end wrench (8mm, 10mm, ect..) put it on the line itself, find a wrench that fits snug on the line, dont force it on, i would imagine its either 8mm or 10mm, then when u order the line, tell them the line u need is the diameter of the size of the wrench you checked it with.. or u could just see if it has a size written somewhere on the line...

If i'm ordering a line that means i have no to line to compare it to, ie I can't put a friggin wrench on the line. Plus how would you get the wrench past the fittings to the actual line being as the fittings are always larger than the line. I also have no idea what size bolt it is because i just won it off ebay. I haven't got it yet, i was hoping there was some kind of a standerized size used. But forget it i'll figure it all out on my own...

Yeah. Sorry!

If you put a double banjo bolt the hydraulic pressure from the handbrake would end up going to the bottom reservoir & not put pressure on the caliper.

Re: Manny from Team Outermost's Hand Brake Setup

only way to do it is like manny did. Otherwise fluid is pushed back up the res tube. GPtechs is basically like mannys but not ghetto. Or you could do like me and some others and just tap the hole where the old res connected and then put a fitting in there, just as good as gptechs.
