Re: Manny from Team Outermost's Hand Brake Setup

I have the GPtech adapter ($35) on mine with a 900RR front brake lever (free) and 5ft of brake line($90),no problems so far, Nags is right if you bleed it right you shouldn't have to pump it.

I would like to get the Fullthrottle set up but money is a little tight

I've got to get off my butt and get mine! Jemar from the Freestyle Freakz had one (gp tech) on his 900rr this weekend at our spot and he was locking up the rear tire with it. He's had no problems yet. I'm gonna go the cheap way first! lol

Re: Manny from Team Outermost's Hand Brake Setup

And Then, here is the whole MC. Its actually rigged on there to fit since it is out of an F-2. The wholes did not line up so it got rigged. I dont trust the hose on the spout held by a hose clamp but it worked. I did put some JB Weld around the hose to prevent leaks if any were to ocurr. Never had any! It is a High Pressure hose though & it was hard to fit it in & over the lip of the spout then I hose Clamped it. I actually tried a cheaper line & it did blow off on the middle of a spreader & nailed the bar. Luckly I saved it running behind the bike @ 30 mph. Got to remember that was the first one I ever made. That has never happened again since!!! Im knocking on wood!!! lol.

Re: Manny from Team Outermost's Hand Brake Setup

Now this one here I like & Trust. Its on Ernies Bike. He finally gave up on the BMX Lever & Cable attached to the rear brake pedal. If you were to do this & do the clamp thing. You know the Inner clip & the clamp theory... I dont think you could go wrong. Ernie just has the inner clip to the compression nuts into the line into the lever. Does that make sence???

Re: Manny from Team Outermost's Hand Brake Setup

ok,

i like what ya got going on here.

question :

since you have a small rubber hose right before the connectors .....

couldnt we use a longer rubber hose to save money on the price of a long braided hose ??

love the pics.

any picks of it up top where the lever is ??

i need some more info on the lever part.

No You Cant'! & It would only save you single dollars. The braided line is only $45. The lever could be the one of your choice. I have Hydrulic Clutch Levers. Out of Parts Unlimited catalog. Ernie uses a front brake lever out of a 900 RR turned upside down.

Re: Manny from Team Outermost's Hand Brake Setup

did anyone ever check whats under this elbow? I'm guessing its a decent sized hole that leads to the piston. What about taking the elbow off and threading the hole to accept a fiting, locktiting it all and then putting the braided hose right to that fitting. It would eliminate most of the jankyness (no offense) of having that lp plastic elbow on there. Any thoughts?

Well manny had commented on how it wasn't "as safe" as the expensive ones, but i think if you tap it it would be just as good. I'll give it a shot as soon as i get all my parts in the mail and let ya know how it goes.
