Fuel pump wont shut off?

Since we put my 929 back together, when you turn the key on the fuel pump just goes and goes and goes forever. I've changed the relay, the computer, and even the fuel pump and nothing has worked. Next up is a whole new wiring harness. Any ideas before I do that?

Can you put a pressure guage on the line to make sure it is building pressure? Maybe the pump isn't really working. There should be some kind of pressure sensor to tell the pump to shut off. Make sure that is working. I can't think of anything else except a leak but you would have found that by now. Maybe the injectors are stuck open? Good luck.

Re: Fuel pump wont shut off?

Did you plug it into the right plug? i plugged speedys into the wrong plug and it ran all the time. Make sure the connectors that are plugged together are the same color.

And there is no pressure sensor when you turn the bike on the pump runs for a preset amount of time till the engine starts.

Re: Fuel pump wont shut off?

why's is so bad that it runs all the time, - the regulator won't let too much fuel psi leak in the engine.

When I took my guages off I had mad fuel pump problems on my 88 CBR so i just wired the damn thing to a toggle switch.

nags what gears you have on the 929?

Re: Fuel pump wont shut off?

I would test another 929's tank + fuel pump. Not hard to switch out for w. one of your boys.

If it still happens. Test w. a volt meter. See what switch is not turning off (sorry don't have my manual infront of me)

Good luck.
