Re: Oil!
i use royal purple motorcycle oil. and a fram oil filter. (i run 3/4 to a full quart over and havent had any problems)
i change my oil every 1,500 to 2K miles and it costs me like $20-25 every time and i just do it myself. Wal-mart dumps it for free too. :YEAH

Re: Oil!
I think I might be switching to mobil one after reading that article. A buddy of mine has used the stuff for years in his 929 and swears by it. He has around 40,000 mile on his bike and it runs like a champ.

Re: Oil!
i run 20-50 spectrum from a kawasaki dealer which is 16.00 for 4 quarts which, will be enough to do an oil change :YEAH i'm -1 +12 on my 01' 6r and it seems to work just fine. you want the 20-50 because 5-50 is real thin and 10-50 is better, but for stunting use 20 because of the breakdown point or temp, this weight will be a little grogier starting, but offers more consistancy with lubricating when rinning at 12 o'clock temps. it's all about protection against thermal breakdown. :YEAH

Re: Oil!
Advanced Auto Brand Motorcycle Filters= $1.50 each on special this week--I bought about 10 which= 1 Honda Oil Filter.
Still looking for cheapest motorcycle oil--cheaper the better--sorry but I go the poor man's route-I don't have enough cash to spend over 5 dollars a flippin' quart!!!

Re: Oil!
i've always ran mobil 1 syn in all the cars since they were new...changed them when the oil light came on or @ 10k....bmw, merc and some others have this standard and recommended in their cars and have 10-15k as the scheduled oil changes...good enough for me....
from now on, i think i'm going to run it in the bikes too, but change at around 3k

Re: Oil!
i used to run mobil 1 pure synthetic...however with the dealer discount it was still 50 to change my oil (5 quarts and a filter) so i got the honda HP4 10W-40...my bike calls for 3.7L of oil, i always put in 5 quarts..can someone explain the pro's and con's of running too much and is that too much?

do I really dont know what will happen, I believe your oil preasure will get a little high and fu(k with the pump.
I always run about 3/4 to 1 quart over. this will ensure your oil level in your sump is high enough to be reached by the oil pickup at all times.

Re: Oil!
Yo FooFighters203 ditch those Fram oil filters. That is the absolute worst cheap piece of **** filter you can put on your bike. I've tested em. They restrict oil pressure. They have a huge history of blowing up or coming apart getting cardboard all in your engine. Run the stock filter. Also, i've still got that f4i rat bodywork if you need it.
