Re: 929 Idle?

I added the 900rr cable to the throttle bodys over the weekend,
It attaches right in the middle of the throttle bodies, right were the throttle cables attach. You break a screw loose take it out, and insert the 900rr cable, same exact threading. Its right on top, so all you do is take the airbox off to get to it.

Bad news: Doesnt seem to work. Still does the same idle problems.

You'll be sitting still, in nuetral or clutch in, turn the idle up to 3000, put it in gear, and drive around and it will jump way past 3, do the wheelie, and it will only idle at like 1500-2000. Rode the bike all day sat and sun....no luck

Only thing i like about it is putting the adjuster outside of the tank to make adjusting it easier.

ANYONE DONE THIS MOD, AND HAVE GOTTON IT TO WORK RIGHT?

Re: 929 Idle?

Any body know what would cause the FI light on my 929 gauges to go crazy. The red light comes on about 10 seconds after you start the bike then it flashes and stays on, then goes off, then flashes some more. If you start whiping circles the bike will suddenly bog and then catches again and it ****in' tosses me. I all most did a full back flip last night. Circle back flips?......maybe I should leave it the way it is.

Re: 929 Idle?

count the flashes, its a trouble code, are you sure everything is hooked up correct, lift the tank up and make sure all the sensors are connected, it will run like **** if you forget to connect the airbox sensors, especially the map sensor.

Re: 929 Idle?

I hated the idle on my 929. Coming from a gsxr 1000, i was like what the f*ck? Then they told me that it was the exhaust valve. I just keep my rpms around 2100 rpms to 2400 rpms on slow stuff. Problem fixed

Just get used to it.

Re: 929 Idle?

Thats a genious idea

So you dont even mess with the idle screw, but have screw that actually pushes on your throttle

Re: 929 Idle?

take the 900rr cable and put it into the middle of the throttle bodies(it's hit the bracket and opens the throttle bodies). this does work and i have seen it work on many 929's so if yours doesn't work then i dunno what to tell ya but they work and you can turn your idle up very very high (too high)

if its 3long 3short it is just the fact u unhooked the exhaust valve, and the motor that controls it is not hooked up. So dont even sweat it.
