standup question...
Im curious...when all of you guys do standups, do you use the back pegs, or the front. i have heard some people say that standing on the back makes for a wobbly ride, but i have also been told its easier to get up. im starting to get ***** on my 929 finally. im not going to get too crazy because its real pretty, but i want to get down.

Re: standup question...
pretty much everyone i talked too, stands on the front pegs. i learned on the front pegs, but once i tired it with my left foot on the passenger peg i never went back to the front. i then tried both passenger pegs. yes the bike will wobble easier. but once i learned to control the wobble it's all good. i love to stand on the back pegs. i stand on the back pegs when shooting for distance. my body is more upright when on the back pegs, so my hands don't take as much pressure. but remember you don't have any rear brake, so don't shoot too high. when standing on the back pegs my b.p. is lower, so i can carry more distance without being super high. ok well that's my $0.02 hope that helps. oh yea i suggest that you have your rear pegs welded or fixed in some way before doing wheelies on them. you don't what them you fold on you..... here's a pic of me doing a 3 mile wheelie @ 65mph.

Re: standup question...
When I started trying to do standups, I only used the front pegs. I was getting a little frustrated because I could not get to BP. So one day I finally tried left foot on rear peg, and right foot on front peg. By the end of the day I was in and out of BP. I wasn't rocking BP the entire time, but I definitely was in and out because my rides were getting longer and longer.
Like the previous people said, I would start out covering that rear brake. Me, personally, I will never try both rear pegs.
Good Luck, and remember to practice, practice, practice!!

What up Dax! How you been?
I agree with dax, I'm not as good as him but I got much better results with the staggered style in a week than I did with both on the front or sitting (which I was working on all damn summer) At least now I can bring it up half the time.
I have tried the both on the rear thing and with my bike it really sucks, because the exhaust can interferes too much with the peg to get a good hold, besides there is nothing to cover your brake with, if you do. Two more things to pay attention too that helped me a ton, 1) RRmike put it best,,, once you roll the throttle on leave your throttle hand totally still until it comes up, a steady throttle hand will make the most difference. 2) when you stand up poke your butt out a little bit, it should be almost over the rear seat, this helped me a ton.
Oh ya one more thing,,, so make that three things,,, I learned this little tip myself and again it helped a lot, if you've been attempting for a long time and can't get it up try this, go to do a power wheelie and right where you think to yourself "damn it should be coming up right now,,, that's when you slip the clutch. only try this as a last resort,,, it really made a difference for me. can be a little scarey at first though

Re: standup question...
when you are coming up, hit the rear brake while staying on the gas. this will make you learn your brake so you will never loop as long as you can reach the brake. then when you can bring the bike down with the back brake, start to hit it softer and softer, this way you can get past the bp and slow your isht down
