Knock Knock Its My Engine?

Knock Knock Its My Engine?
After about a 45 min ride the other day not hard average about 85 - 90 the whole way when I got back on local streets and stopped at a light in neutral and low revs the engine was knocking like crazy. I checked the oil resevoir it looked a little low nothing major. Could this be the problem? Havent had a chance to get to my mechanic cause he is closed over the weekends and Mondays. Any input would be greatly appreciated.

Re: Knock Knock Its My Engine?
Man that sucks.i know at 7700 miles on mine the cam bucket stuck open and i had a valve hit the piston and put a small nick in it.but when that happens it is a loud ticking noise. alot diffrent from a rod knocking. i got just
under 15000 miles on it now and still going strong.knock on wood. good luck at the shop and if you want another motor let me know i have a spare 97 with about 7000 miles on it that came out of a wrecked one.

well if its knocking and its not anything stupid like something being loose then theres only one way to tell if its a rod... Do revlimiter burnouts until the tire pops.. if a rod shoots out of the block then it was toast anyways. get it on video too. :YEAH

If up to speed though it runs just normal only knocks in neutral and at low revs. wouldnt it knock all the time if it was something as serious as a rod or anything else to that effect. i wish i could get some good news.

thats what im thinking too. if its a rod, the faster you go the faster that thing is flying out the block. it happened to me last week

I don't believe it's too hard of a swap. I know 3 out of 4 motor mounts line right up. I imagine the wiring should be pretty close to the same. A guy that used to live here did his and only ran the 3 engine bolts and never had any troubles.
