Re: What size Sprocket are you running?

you dont need any gearing at all on 600's mayeb 750s not sure for 12ing and idle tricks. you do need it for 1000's. i dont get the peopel that go plus 10 and shiton there 600's to scrape and do idle tricks. i have a -1(for spreaders) 02 f4i. i am learning circles, i ahve no handerrs, apehangers, cliffhangers etc. not trying to brag or anything jsut wondering y peopel gear there 600's for those tricks. you only really need it for slow spreaders, hc's, seatstanders, etc. thinkin bout goin stock front plus 8-10 for slow spreaders, etc

I like it...engine brake from hell. You can slow everything down no hand brake....seat standers, tank wheelies, highchairs...you name it.

-1 +4 on the 929 it's great for doing a little of everything but in the next few day's i'll be goin up 4 more in the rear for a while just cuz it's a little easier to get the circles tighter but once i get them down i'll be goin back to my original setup

you miss understood, i asked why people run big sprockets on 600's for like idle tricks, and learning to 12. idle is idle it doesnt matter how big ur sprocket is. i kno y they run em big for slow stuff without the break. my question is why gear ur bike to learn or for idle tricks. and i will be gettin pics very soon.

bigger sprockets were initially used to create less wear and tear on a bike-to make it clutch up easier...so that is ONE reason why people run big sprockets on 600's. idle is idle, it DOES matter-gives a little more torque down low so that the nose won't fall so easily.

and for the record: bar tricks ON THE IDLE don't count as tricks-those are the 3triesandimasteredit type tricks ONCE you can put the bike on the bar...

also for the record: many, many, many, many, many people have no handers-they are not the trick of the year like they were back when Chauncey started doing them three years ago...learn to endo, do combos, acrobatics, burnouts!

and for the last record: not hating, i've been keeping an eye on you and your pics/posts-keep it up, you are looking good!!!

enough record keeping,

Teach

ps.

636a is stock front, up 19?? (62teeth)
636b is -1 front, up 8 back

and yes, i like them both

Re: What size Sprocket are you running?

thanx for clearing that up, the bigger sprocket for less wear on the bike makes sense. ims tilla lil confused on sprocket size an idle. id u have stock gearing and u hit a 3500rpm idle ur goin bout 10-15 (on my bike) you hit 3500rpm idle on a geared bike ur still at 3500 rpm but ur prolly only be doin like 8. also i wasnt listin my tricks to brag just informing people of the tricks i do. im way to fat an outa shape to learn good acrobatics, im waitin for a damper for stoppies, and i was learin combos this sunday and plan on practicing them every time i go out. steve from xfr showed me how to do the rodeo burnout this sunday and i can already do most of the other ones besdies chainsaws cuz i havent tried yet, also plannin on learing switchback burnouts.
