Front peg removal on R6

How do you remove the FRONT PEGS on a 2001 R6. It looks like you have to drill the piece out but not sure and really dont want to.

Re: Front peg removal on R6

well on a gsxr 600 you unsrew the bracket that holds the whole peg and branke or shifter. Then there is a bolt that runs through a hole and screws into the peg. Mine was an allen wrench. Tough as hella to get it unscrewed because there was thread-lock on the bolt. May be simular to urs. I highly doubt that any drilling is needed to remove a part off any bike. Especially something like a peg.

Thumbs up Re: Front peg removal on R6

I was too lazy to remove the rearsets so I just dremmled the end of the pin that goes thru the peg and replaced it with a grade 8 bolt/nut and I was 'golden' took 15 minutes. dremmle the round end like you're cutting a pizza and use a screw driver to just pry it off.

Re: Front peg removal on R6

yeah the rear ones are a big allen bolt. I am leaving those one. The front ones look like some bolt of some sort that I may have to dremel. The pegs I bought come with a Allen bolt to put back in. But the instructions that they come in say some bikes you have to drill out the factory peg. Thats crazy man...
