Need Help Snailing the wheelie, Yamaha XT 600
Almost covered second gear all day but I think I'm sometimes straining the engine as I fight to keep her in the sweet spot. I think I can eaisly do a 1/4 of a mile under 6000 rpms, 7000rpms and beyond is redline!! (I usually run 5000rpms-5500 rpms for most of the run and can even pull a scrape or two.)
When I begin to pick up too much speed I would touch the throttle a little bit more and ride the balance point. This seems to help with engine revs, thus giving me a bit less rpms and putting less strain on my engine, but my problem is that unless I hold her there for a long time, the speed does'nt reduce as low as I would like or be comfortable with.
So people, I'm thinking brakes!!!!!!!!!
My question is for any onewheeler who really knows the technique to slowing um with brakes.
When exactly do you apply the brakes, beyond the B.P or on it?
How much, I'm thinking light pressure but whenever I try I tip forward.
Should I practice first gear, think that will help?
Put some stink on this one for me Onewheelers!!

Go slightly beyond the balance point and begin braking while being extremely smooth on the throttle. The reason that you want to brake beyond the balance point is so the speed decreases while you're at the balance point. Hope this helped

i never got the idea of using the rear brake on fast standups. if u go high enuf u can slow them down with just throttle. maybe ur trying to stall? i dunno but i could get my 3rd gear standups down to like 60 on my 00 r6 with stock gearing no brake.
