Wheelie help

Every time I try to do a clutch wheelie I get the front tire up to about 9 o’clock and my back tire just spins and goes out to my right and I have a Dunlop 207 I think and its 190 series and its at 30 psi’s do I just need to lower the psi

Any help would be rad thanks

Re: Wheelie help

Ditch the 207. They suck. Get a better tire.

Mustangthief - 1) be easy on the guy, he's asking a question. 2) have you offered him any help? or just have nothing better to do except pick his post.

Sketchy1 - give more detail as to what kind of wheelie you're trying to do and the steps you're taking to get there. There's enough experience on this board to help you get the information you need.

Re: Wheelie help

do what gix and ruff ryder said, get a new tire. michilin and metzler m1s work great, i use them both. i also hear pirelli is the ish. and you might need to be a little smoother too when slipping the clutch. it has alot to do with timing. cover your brake. give us more info as to what you are looking to do, what gear are you in, all that good stuff. again cover your brake

Re: Wheelie help

No matter what definitely cover the rear brake and learn to use it. I was in a similar situation as you as far as trying to find balance point about a month ago and totally phucked my whole bike up when I looped it. Good luck dude and tell me what kinda tire you get because once I get a new one I'll be looking to hear what the good products are

Re: Wheelie help

for some useless info that none of ya'll will ever need to know my brothers initials spell RAD
yeah anyways... tire pressure will help a lot. And if you want to spend a penny everytime you get tires go ahead and get the diablos (great tires.. nails suck).. i got a race take off supercorsa on the back of mine right now.. cost me 20 bucks its bald on edges but center is fine ... and has lasted for a while now.
haha and speakin' of loopin' .... mine has now twice been back and over and is doing fine... now running it half sorta naked with no front fairing.. and fairing stay sawed down. once during a stupid first gear stand up.. hit an oil patch slipped and gripped again... the next time was about 2 nights ago trying slow stuff... just didn't hit the back brake and also balance was way the f*ck off. Its still going at it...

Re: Wheelie help

Is everyone in here rockin 12's with constant rear brake or just touch-and-go? 1st gear? 2nd? 3rd? What about the inital moves--one foot on the rear peg, one on front? A 929 is in my very soon future and Im trying to absorb as much info as possible before I loop it LOL.

Just like the Terminator said, "The more contact I have with humans (or stuntriders), the more I learn."

Re: Wheelie help

If your rear tire has threads showing, it will spin before lifting the front. If so replace with something better.

Re: Wheelie help

I had the same problem trying to pull up 2 gear tank wheelies the best solution is to adj. your suspention ,try softening the rebound in the front,or the first time it spins just stay in to gas for a couple sec. and the tire should be hot enough to grip.

Re: Wheelie help

First off, those who don't want to offer solid advice. Read and don't post! I personally don't care what I have for a rear tire.

<------------------- BALD DUNLOP

If the outside air temp is over 60 degrees and the ground is dry ANY tire will get the front tire off the ground. One question though. Are you sitting or standing?
