Re: sv650s stunt bike?

i've seen some guys I ride with in Tyler rock some sick slow **** with 'em. THey are torquey as hell in low RPMs so they come up a lot easier... seen some badass slow spreaders and highchairs.
you can stunt any bike just takes time, practice, and a little skill
me.. i wish i woulda got a SV to start out on... less **** to replace and the bars are more MX style

I've heard that the engine suffers from oil starvation during long wheelies. A 4 cyl. is really the way to go.

Re: sv650s stunt bike?

I ride one - where I'm far from a stunter, I love the bike. The bike is great to ride, and has a good amount of power, but I'm not sure if it's good for strict stunting.

I actually just learned how to clutch wheelies on mine, and can do power wheelies...both are in 1st gear and are a bit sketchy, but possible. It just seems that something with an inline 4 and a wider rear tire would be easier to learn on...but then again my lame-o wheelies hardly make me a stunter. It's a cool bike, turns awesome, great on a track...wheelies come up pretty fast, but I think the standard inline 4 stunt bikes would be better for a stunter...

Hey man I have been riding my SV for about 2years now. it pulls up great under power in 1st, not so easy in second; requires some effort. I have heard of people blowing there engines, but they werent running guages either....if its starving for oil the idiot light will come on, sit it down and run a half quart over. My only complaint about the SV is that I cant pull it up on the highway at about 60mph.....but definately a great bike for learning basics........AND THIS IS THE KICKER >>>> YOU CAN AFFORD FULL COVERAGE INSURANCE>>>>>>

That was important to me

and crash cages are in development from several companies.

I just got over 30k miles this weekend. I road raced it till about 14k, than stuntin and commutin'. I went 5 up on the rear, but now it tops out at about 130-135 mph-which kinda sucks. Comin' up at 60-cake, comin up at 75 does take a bit. Run Silkolene oil ONLY , it's worth it. Pour an extra half to three quater of a quart extra. Never got a 12'n light go on yet, but than again I can't get past the 3/4mile marker yet on one wheel. My full coverage insurance is $28.31/month, and my record ain't pretty either, especialy from knee dragin days. My next bike will be another SV, most fun I had on a bike in 18 years of riding.
