GSXR tip over sensor

I heard it's under the gas tank ('01 1000).
Has anyone bypassed it or whatever to make it not work?
If so, how did you do it.

Its in front of your battery, its a black box with a metal cover.

take the cover off keep the ring in the middle and fill it full of silicone let it dry and replace your cover. remount it and voila

Re: GSXR tip over sensor

I did that just two days ago with my 02 750. Now the problem I am having is after the bike is shut down for about 20 min and you go to start it you have to reset the key. The original problem has been solved but I'm not real happy with the overall outcome.Any words on this..jk www.theuprightsstuntteam.com

Re: GSXR tip over sensor

I wouldn't use silicon because that's permanent. I simply stuffed a paper napkin from taco bell in mine, so that I can take it out and have a working tip over sensor if I ever sell them bike. It's easy as crap, you don't even have to take the tank off just get someone with small hands to grab the little square thing in front of your battery

Doesnt sound like that is the problem. The tip over sensor would trip a code and you would have an FI light blinking on your temperature display.

The bike has no gagues so I cant get any lights blinking. Just a note for the Taco Bell Napkin user, if someone was going to buy your bike would you actually let them tip it over to see if the switch worked. And then again do you think a buyer would ever think of checking this. I myself never knew that they installed this type of thing on bikes untill the first chainsaw I tried. But if your bike loves them buritos I guess keep on feeding it. later...jk www.theuprightsstuntteam.com

Re: GSXR tip over sensor

I just used two zip ties, one on each side of the ring and I've never had a problem.

Re: GSXR tip over sensor

hey, what do you mean you have to reset the key when the bike shuts down for 20min?
Funny thing, i actually went out and bought silicone just to put in this thing & when i was looking at it i was thinking of "rigging" something else -- damn too late now...
anyhow, didn't test it yet...
