you know your at balance when the RPM's stop climbing. You wont have to play with the throttle as much either. its a weightless feeling...almost like your gonna go over, but you dont.

If you have to ask, then you're nowhere near balance point. Slowly bring it up a bit higher

If you can hold a wheelie at a constant speed, your there. Keep that rear brake covered!

You'll know when u hit it the bike will get weightless. You might get scared the first time and let off the gas and slam down but you'll get used to it. You'll hardly be using any throttle rockin bp wheelies

Re: how do I know when I'm at BP

I'd say learn em in 2nd the throttle will be smoother 1'st is way to jerky for a beginner to try to learn balance point and yea cover the brake! I never did until i started slow stuff but i had a few close calls almost going over so keep a foot over the brake

been over twice....know how to use that brake good! in fact...practice that more than wheelies! once you get that rear brake down, then start wheelies. Worst thing I see is people doing freeway wheelies at BP and not covering that brake! **** gets ugly real fast!

dude you will know... it'll feel like your going over but you never do and just stay at one point. and don't try it in first 'specially on a 929. Rear brake is always there... lilke they said use it if it comes to it.. but engine braking will mainly bring you back down... now i can float past BP and bring it slower with engine braking :YEAH

You will see a green sign that says, "BP" and that sign will also have gas prices on it. Look around and there should be a bunch of gas pumps and a convenience store.

As for wheelies everyone else pretty much covered it.

Re: how do I know when I'm at BP

I thought I was getting close in first to BP until I had my friend took some pictures and I wasn't even close!! Pretty sad, I thought I was getting close, looks like I gotta long way to go. Hopefully I'll get a little closer before the summer is over

Re: how do I know when I'm at BP

In response to what InTheWind said, I totally know what your sayin. I thought I was hitting real high wheelies from first but after watching myself on tape i notice that there no where near what I thought they were. Its a good idea to start taping yourself when you think your hitting some high ones, because it helps to show where your at and then you can judge how much further you need to go to hit a BP.

I wheelie from going really slow so my BP has to be pretty high, and its so true that you feel like your floating when you hit it, kinda like a bungie jump feeling only toned down a lot.

Re: how do I know when I'm at BP

In response to taping yourself, I did that. Lately I haven't had anyone to tape me, but I am getting higher than I was before. I do cover the back break but I have never felt the floating feeling. Is it true that when you can see the front wheel you are at bp.
