Ok Everyone Here is the long awaited answer:

Can a 04 GSXR motor go into a 01-03 FRAME??

YES YES YES

I Did it yesterday and I will Tell You exactly how it is done!!!

A 2004 GSXR 600 or 750 Motor will fit into a 2001-2003 GSXR 600-750 frame with minimal or no frame notching up front.

Before you begain this you must posses some kind of little skills with a sodering iron and wiring skills.

You Will Need all of the following off of the 04. The Ignition Switch, Complete Wiring harness w/ all relays and sensors, CDI Box, clutch rod side, air box, fuel pump

So first Place the Motor up in the Frame Bolt of the bottom motor mounts then jack it up and You might and might not have to notch the front brackets if you do it is so minimal...

Next take the 03 harness out of the bike completly.... Put the o4 harness in...Plug all the plugs into the motor, Throttle Bodies, Rectifier, Battery.

Next you need to have the airbox from the 04 because throttle boddy spacing is a little different... Next you need to modify the new airbox.. You must cut off the ram air tubes in order for it to fit down in the frame..

Next you Need to swap out the fuel pumps out of the 03 and 04

Now all your throttle linkage will hook up to the new motor.....

Your clutch cable will hook up also you need to take us the clutch rod cover fromt he 04 though just put you cable into it and hook it up.

The 03 Rectifier will just plug into the 04 harness..

You MUST AND I MEAN MUST have an 04 ignition switch with the setup or the fuel pump will not turn on... they changed the resistance in the ignition switch for 04.. You can not use the 04 triple tree due to the forks are smaller but the ignition switch bolts right up on the 03 tree.

Next you will have to go to the rear tail section and wire up your lights.. the connectors are different so you will have to cut the ends off and soider the ends together....

You will have to add some wire to the 04 wiring harness and run it over to your rear brake for the rear brake lights...

The Ignition switch will plug into the 04 harness with out cutting and splicing the harness..

The kill switch starters swtich plug up front...The wiring from the 03 bike is the same color as the 04.. so cut the end off of the 04 and put the wires together and solider them together..

For High beams and low beams... I happened to be lucky I took the control piece that goes onto your handle bars off an 04 and put it on 01-03 bike....

Next... I didnt have the gauge cluster or front wiring harness that went to the headlights from the 04... I had the one from the 01-03.... So I took the end off the 04 wiring harness and cut the big white long plug off and took the 03 harness and cut the round plug off.... Next the 03 has 17 wires and the 04 has 15 wires... on the 03 there is some kind of plug that is not used those wires you will not use on the 04... Next match exactly all the wire colors together and slider them together...

Let me remind you that the 04 rev higher so the tach will probably be off but I only wanted the oil Light, temp and gas light anyways.. this is a stunt bike... When you wire this up everything works including all the codes from the cdi.. and you can use your headlights from your 03 and everything works.

Next You must have the Radiator from The 01-03 bike... The plugs are the same just plug it in and hook up the hoses....

Exhaust is fine just hook yours off of the 01-03

Now you cant take the gas cap off an 04 bike and put it on an 01-03 tank it doesnt fit.


Ohh yeah if you have one of those extend pickups they will fit also take it out of your 01-03 motor and put it in the 04 motor

I think this is it... it took me alot of time and effort to do this.. but I think I am the first to do it.. next time it wont be so hard and if anyone else wants to do it... it shouldnt be that hard with this guide!!!

i think it'd be easier to buy the little stamp tools and stamp my 01-03 vin into the 04 frame... but what the hell do i know

About 3 or 4 hours but motor only had 20 miles on it!!! it was worth it!!!
