cuttin exhaust for 12's
hey i got an 02 f4i and im learin to 12. my exhaust end peice is weleded on. what should i use to cut my pipe, how much louder will it be after i take liek 3inches off, and how should i re-attach my endpeice, reweld it like it was? or rivet it?

I'm gonna cut my stock pipe in the next few days i'll let ya know how it turns out. I'm usin a cutoff wheel seems to be the easiest way to make it straight.
Or you could bust out the old sawzall. :YEAH Im probably gonna weld mine back together we'll see. i'll try to get pics up of it.

It shouldnt be to much louder with only 3" cut off, i would use a chop saw or band saw to cut it with so it cuts it straight and even. I would rivit the end on or use screws, cuz that crap is tricky to weld sometimes cuz some r made of some titanium and it spits and spatters when u try to weld it....

i got a 99 ZX7R, and i just shortened up my pipe, sounds pretty good. crackles on deceleration a lot, but its a different sound. my cap was riveted on, but after i cut it, i welded it back together and sprayed it out like stove paint flat black. i didnt do it to clear 12's (c'mon, im on a zx7r), but more for a cheap/different looking and sounding can. i like it a lot, it gets a lot of looks. everyone asks who makes them like that. just my
