Lots of 900RR questions

I currently ride a 954 but have found what I think is a good deal on a 900RR (99). I can get the bike for $2400. It's in good shape and hasn't been crashed but does have 20k miles on it. I want to make this my stunting bike and quit thrashing my new 954.

The questions are:

Is the '99 900 carbeurated or injected? I've heard it's carbeurated. If so can I expect much poorer throttle response than with my 954?

Is there a big power/weight difference? Am I gonna feel awkward on it or will it be pretty similar to the 954?

Is that a good deal? I was looking around in the cycle trader here and couldn't find any good bikes used nearly that cheap so I think for this area it's a good deal. I couldn't find anything for less than 5 or 6k so I just bought a new one.

What should I check/replace when I get the bike? Obviously the oil will be changed and tires and chain and brakes checked to make sure they're good but anything less obvious I should look at before or after I get it?

Do the '99's have the oil pickup problem? Will it be ok for long balance point wheelies if I go about 1/2-1 quart over full? Will that cause any problems?

Any other useful tips for a new-ish sportbike rider about the '99 900 would be great too.

Thanks for any replies.

Have the valve clearances checked.

Re: Lots of 900RR questions

I'd pick that up in a second. I ride a 929 now..I still love the 900. It's one of the best stunt bikes. They are solid.

-It has carbs..but oh so smooth compared to the 954.
-It will feel wide (to the 954) as hell till u get used to it.
-99's oil pickup is at the rear..run 1/2 qt over. too much over can *** your engine.
