I ride an 03 600 rr , got about just a little over 10k miles on her.

I used to be able to clutch it up around 7500k , now I've get it up to 1200-1250 for her to come up high.

Would tightening my chain help, I noticed it's really loose.

I've only been riding wheelies for a few months. Sorry for the stupid question.

chains are only supposed to have about 30mm play, if it gets too loose u'll start breaking teeth of the sprocted and hearing loud skip noises..and bikes need tune ups..get a full tune up done on it then u should be good

what gear? 1st sure aint a prob

i can clutch just about anything up..but i ride my friends 03rr and cant clutch it up in 2nd...i dont care how much i dump the clutch or gas it...it wont come up..bounce it no problem...even in 3rd gear.

funny you should mention it, I was thinking I needed a tune up this morning while on the way to work.


1st gear. She just won't come up unless I rev really high. 2ND is a bitch to get up.

wait, you can't get a 600rr up in 1st??? I've been getting my 01 Katana 600 up pretty good in 1st, is your jetting off or something?

no no no, she'll come up just fine but I have to get her up to 1200 RPM or better. Used to be able to get her up around 7500 just by popping the clutch. No more. I'm now slipping the clutch while rolling and revving to around 10-1100. It's just weird.
