Heh! Me too,, dawg... Its all love on here. I can't stand my moms.

But if you talk bad about granny... well them thar be some fightin words.

My boy has an 01 Katana and he wants to stunt so bad it hurts. I don't know what to tell him aside from the usual "Trade it in or shoot it and get another bike." That's not an option... so I'm thinking that gearing the hell out of it is his only option... but what happens after that... No one is making a cage for a Kan-o-tuna... And what happens when he 12's it.... Damn thing just seems way to front end heavy to be stable up there. Oh well... should have done some research before he bought it.

too late, i already have 52tooth sproket in rear and down 2 in front. i can idle the bike up and ride slow wheelies, but i was wanting to know how to ride stable in second gear.

I get my 750 up in second by rolling at exactly(indicated lol) 30 mph, rev it up to 12, start bouncing and clutch on the second bounce. Since you have a 600 I would try that at 25 mph instead of 30.

Also a trick that not many katana stunters know is to take off the seat and put your left foot on the tail light bracket. This gets your weight higher up and farther back so its easier to wheelie on a fat oil pump. You will be able to get it up in second easily that way, maybe even third, but you should learn that in first gear first unless you're already used to foot in the bar wheelies.

Re: 2nd gear katana wheelies?

I went 1 down and 10 up on my Katana, it came up easy in 2nd at 30 mph clutching it sitting down. I also made some long frame sliders and drilled holes in the frame up close to the valve cover and attached them there, they saved the stator cover in my 50mph crash i had last week. :YEAH

It accelerates like a civic with VTEC and has the top speed of a Geo Metro.

Hope I helped!

Re: 2nd gear katana wheelies?

it's a heavy bike but so what you want to have fun it will wheelie if you lean back far enough on the seat. I rode a katana for many years the old school GS and i could wheel it no problem. Once you are up find the balance point quicker or your are going over. It's not as short as most sportbikes so it takes some getting use to. But you can wheelie just about anything if you try hard enough and lean back. Peace bro and good luck!

:YEAH

I would agree the interceptor is the AMC pacer of motorcycles but i have owned some **** bikes myself 1983 FT 500 ascot hunk of **** it welded a part on the clutch side to another part and locked up. Doing wheelies of course

But the intercepter is the winner along with the old school yamaha SECA 550 and the 650 turbo crap!
