929 problems

Ive got two problems. Ive noticed when I do a second gear sit down and it gets to the balance point I get mad wobble, i have the tire down to 5-15 psi, and im not choping the throttle. The other thing that when I get on the freeway I get to 80mph 5g rs and give it throttle the rs jump up obout a grand then drop half of a grand then go back up whats up with that I just put a new clutch in about three weeks ago.

Re: 929 problems

your rev problem sounds like 1 of 2 things, 1, the clutch is slipping, 2, it's missing the gear. Sometimes mine misses the gear in third....don't know why. it's rare but it's done it.

your other, doing second gear at high speed (i would assume 60 or more) you need around 15-20....running lower will cause wobbles cause the tire flexes. This is what i've noticed with mine. i run 18 and don't seem to have problems on the highway. also, sitdowns are harder to balance, i still get wobbles in my sitdowns, but not on standups. they are just touchier and usually at speed once you get a wobble it's hard to stop it.

Re: 929 problems

i notice that i get some crazy wobble in my sitdowns also...ill bring it back near the bp but start to wobble so i let off some and try again only to have the same thing happen...however when i do stand ups it will wobble for 5-10 feet once im up there then just chill...i dont understand...i am running 10 psi in my tire...ill put 20 and see how it goes...does that make it harder to pull 2nd gear standups on a 600 though??? (geared -1 +2)

same reason as i said before, with stand ups you have more leverage with your body away from the bike to stop the wobble. Sitdowns you don't have that leverage and any small movement you make is going to cause more movement with the bike because you are close to the bike. Kinda like leverage since you are standing up you are further away with more leverage.

sitdowns usually take a lot more precise movements and balance.

looks are deceiving, use a pressure guage. anywhere from 15-25 is a good range. i run 18, some run lower, some run higher. just gotta keep testing it til you find a pressure that suits you.

I kick my tires.....your axle bolt being on to tight can cause wobbles
