wheelie an 01 R6

I have read all the postings on how to wheelie but no one really explains the how to do it on an R6 very well and if they do it’s usually on the 03. I have an 01 jetted and full exhaust and I was wondering if any one could tell me the exact rpms they use when they hold in the clutch and let it out on an 01or 02 R6 so I don’t give I to much and flip over.

Re: wheelie an 01 R6

nobody can tell you the exact RPM to use. your body weight, position, speed all play a role in the rpm used to wheelie.

go out and try it, and don't flip it. I'd suggest using the 5-10k rpm range to start getting the feel for it. (but don't put along at 5k in 2nd, slam it open, pull the clutch and dump it at 10k full steam, i think that would flip it.

rest assured my friend, I have an 01 R6 and I wheelie it. unfortunately i cant tell you exactly what rpms to be at but I can tell you this with stock gearing in second gear at about 45 mph pull in the clutch rev it up quickly and while the rpms are high (10g's or so, you need to develope a feel for you bike and comfort level) let it go. when you get good at it you should be able to do it at or above 75 mph, side note cover rear brake....lol

Re: wheelie an 01 R6

While I do ride an 03 i taught a dude on saturday how to stunt a 02 on Saturday, he even posted the pics on R6 message net in the stunt section today. sitting down take it to about 10k rpms, scoot back in the seat, keep your upper body back as far also, and just gas it.

Or take it to about 9 or 10k rpms, stand up, keep your body back a little, and gas the hell out of it. it really isn't that hard.

The guy I taught let me ride his bike and I had no trouble. keep practicing.

Re: wheelie an 01 R6

just practice practice practice........Only you can tell what you need to do it. If you are having trouble with clutch usage, you should try it on a dirtbike or 4 wheeler so you know the feeling of when to let off and when to give it more throttle...
