Suspension too hard?

I don't know how the previous owner set up the suspension but when I try to bounce my bike and I've jumped on the pegs it barely goes down 3 inches at the most.

He did ride two up a lot so I'm wondering if maybe the suspension is set up for that.

How can I check to see what my suspension is set at?

Re: Suspension too hard?

you talking about front or rear?
front the little turnie thinggies at the top of the forks
rear has the spring adjustment right at the top of the spring

Re: Suspension too hard?

Nevermind, I found the manual and everything was adjusted according to the specifications.

I don't know why it's so difficult for me to bounce the bike, it's like, it won't give at all. I am only 5'8 145 but I still should be able to bounce it.

Should I try powering the throttle off as I am bouncing it?

i hear ya man. i got a 03 gixxer 600 and i'm about 5'10 and 155lbs and when i try to power it it comes up about 3in,and on top of that i pull my bars to the right for some reason. so now i'm just accelerating my wheelies.

Re: Suspension too hard?

I wish it were that easy for me, I'm at about 6000 feet above sea level and so my power is drastically decreased. I can't even power a wheelie up, I've either got to clutch it or learn how to bounce.

Re: Suspension too hard?

just clutch it, don't power it up. by clutching it up you know where bike is going to come up to.
