Practice on a regular motorcycle. Just take your time. I imagine it would be quite different on a mountain bike or the like. Same braking concept sure, but a real motorcycle has very different weight and handling characteristics.

Re: doing a stoppie?????????

Just get going about 30 and squeeze the front brake as you shift your weight over the front.

First time or two I tried I just stopped. Second time I got the back wheel off the ground enough to loose traction and I fishtailed. Third time was today and I picked it straight up about 2 feet off the ground. Watch out for the tank when you come down, and go slow. It will totally feel like your gonna go over the bars the first few times.

Oh yeah, I'm on a 636 and I have been riding for about 3 weeks now.

Re: doing a stoppie?????????

its gonna be almost impossible to stoppie that bike, the front tire just sucks. i tried countless times on my ninja 500 and every single time the front locks up and i start sliding. the only way i can see it working out is if you have all your weight over the front wheel or something like that. if you can get it down then more power to ya, good luck

Re: doing a stoppie?????????

I dont know about the bike buttake it slow. I just started doing stoppies about a month ago. I started rolling them about 15 ft or so untill I looped it and seperated my shoulder. Be carefull. As fot the tire sliding part..... Let some pressure out of it. Go about 25lbs or so. It helped me. And yes try preloading your rear shock and bouncing the rear up. :YEAH

Re: doing a stoppie?????????

if no one has said it,

warm up your tires.

you also need to lean forward as hell on that shizit. (like you're doing a rolling burnout, i mean you need to be almost over the damn bars)

dont jerk the brake fast or you'll either flip or skid. you need to just put in the front brake slow and hard.

Re: doing a stoppie?????????

I know I'm seriously bringing this thread back but I think its better than making a new one. Its been said that a regular seated stoppie will be tough. How about one where u are sitting on the handlebars. In like a high chair position, but then u do the stoppie. Easier to avoid getting urself hurt and also gonna put more weight on the front.
Thoughts?
