Re: 2nd gear wheelies
I dont even clutch my wheelies on my R6 in 2nd gear. You have to mess around with the rpms, but i just bounce it and open throttle(standing up), and use my body weight to help pull it back a lil as well, comes right up. I think Im at like 6k rpms before i open the throttle. If your sitting down, you'll definately have to clutch a 600.

Re: 2nd gear wheelies
If you plan on shifting, even though its hard on the tranny, dont do it between 1st and 2nd, cause you have to go over neutral. For shifting between gears, I let the engine burp a lil bit, on and off the throttle a lil usually lets it go smoothly. If you want to shift through gears while one up, practice first w/ two wheels down. Lets you get a feel for it.

Re: 2nd gear wheelies
I have stock sprockets as well. I just kinda do it and dont look at the rpm range much. I think i start off at around 6k rpms and after i bounce it and open throttle and get it balanced, im pretty high in rpms, 10k plus. Just go out and practice on it, it took me a couple to learn exactly how to get it up in 2nd w/out clutching. Work on bouncing it, open throttle while the shocks are coming back up and throw your body weight back, while standing up, all in sync. It is easier on newer bikes. But if you find yourself just not being able to pull this off, then just clutch it, gets it up there to the BP faster!

Re: 2nd gear wheelies
:YEAH I run a 99 R6, and i'm -1 on the front sprocket and it helped!! I have the best luck standing, get the bitch to about 7500rpm and whack the throttel and bounce most of my weight on the pegs AT THE SAME TIME!! If U try putting all the weight on the bars U tend to go to on side or the other, at least taht was the problem I had!! U might not get it the first time, but practice and get the timing down!! U'll get it!!! :YEAH :YEAH :YEAH

no u dont. on the R6 in second. u should be able to rev it up to about 9 or 10k. then just let off and snap the throttle hard again while pulling up at the same time. and itll go up. but usually i just do stand up. since it looks alot cooler. and easier to control as well. for stand up, rev to 8k. then let off throttle and push the front down very quickly before u snap the throttle again. shell pop up like nuthin. thats in second BTW. same thing for 3rd gear except u gotta rev it to 10k. i personally hate clutching. it feels like u have no control, and its really hard on your clutch. but im sure it would work great if i actually practice and learn it properly.
