no frame sliders.....need help

Can anyone out there help. I've been stuntin for about a year and been rocking a 96 ZX6R. After many falls i'll bust the stator cap on the side leaking my bikes vital fluids on the street many times(6 times in the last 2 months). The problem is they don't make frame sliders or crash cages for my year bike. I understand that damage will happen but is there a way to have something to keep the damage from happening so often

kav,
if your good at using tools and taking measurements, then i suggest you make your own crash cage, I got so sick and tired of people wanting $95 + for a f*@&(n 12 bar i went out and bought the steel for $25, did some research and studied hundreds of pics and built my own, and if you saw it you would swear it was from freestyle ingenuity, point is, a little time and patience and you could do it
if i was gonna build one this is what i would do...
1) get frame sliders (to use as a template so to speak)
2) get a 6 foot tube (steel) and bend it and shape it as if youe frame sliders was the part commin off your engine
3) cut a few pieces and take a picture to your local welding shop and they should fix you right up....

TIME = 4 days max
$$$= maybe around 100-150 total depending on what the welder charges you...
im sure you could ask around and there is bound to be a friend that you know somewhere that welds, and is willing to make some cash on the side

Alright guys, I ride a 96 ZX6R and a 929 but anyway . The major problem with the 95-97 ZX6R is their is not convienent a mount on the frame to attach a slider. What I found that was usefull to help me save my plastics when dropping was buying the 2" extended bar end / sliders and some fairing protectors that I found on ebay. Another issue is that the faring protector mounts in place of the regular body bolts. The 95-97 ZX6r has two places on the side plastic that these can be mounted to . The upper has a small S bracket that mounts the body to the frame, it needs to be reinforced to with stand consistant abuse. NOW the mid-body bolt is actually the bracket mount for the oil cooler, IF fairing protectors are mounted to this location a reinforcment will be nessasary. All I did was the bar extenders , upper fairing protectors with the s bracket reinforced and it has held up to numurous drops. Now Im not talking about a 12's gone bad and looped stoppies but Ived dropped her a few times with some out of control stoppies and dougnuts gone bad. AS far as the engine covers Im pretty sure NRC make stonger covers . Now with the gearing I went with a +4 in the rear. Helped alot with standin her up , not the lightest. I roll out now with the 4 up rear gear about 60 @ 7000, it's a nice balance if you ride on the tollway/ highway. im telling u this bike has to be about the easiest to learn rollin burners ,and doughnuts. Ive owned the bike since 99 w/ 1000 miles, now it has 15000 and has been maintenence free. is just now giving me carb problems which is due to my lack of carb cleans. Over all for the amount you can pick one up for they are not that bad for beginners and or stunt bikes. Check the links im gunna try to post , for the fairing and bar protectors. Peace..........

Wink Re: no frame sliders.....need help

there is a guy on here in a zx6r thread saying that he has crash cages for sale available and as far as sliders you can get one to fit u just have to get the right size bolt and etc.. should not be too hard..

there used to be people making them for our year when i got mine but they dont make it anymore and dont want to

here is mine
