wheelies
i have a sv 650s with yosh race system, stage 1 jet kit, k&n, and one down sprocket in front. wheelies in second are a bitch even with clutching it. how many should i go up in back to get easy 2nd gear wheelies. i was thinking 2 or 3. top speed now is about 135 mph

you really shouldnt have to go up in the rear on that bike. i also have a 01 650s, i have a yoshi slip on and a stage 1 but i never touched the gearing and it loves second gear! i am going along between 30-40 mph when i feed the throttle and clutch it. the bike stock comes with a 15 tooth front sprocket so if you went down one in the front you shouldnt have a problem. good luck, keep me posted. (note: i have heard about a oil relocator for our bikes which you will need if you are doing wheelies. my motor is sitting in a box right now because the bearing on the rear cylinder seized due to oil starvation. the motor lubes the front cylinder first, so in extended wheelies the rear cylinder is starved for oil. if you hear anything let me know. later...ride safe)

thanks for the input, i will be sure to be out practicing as soon as this stupid winter thing is over. i will check around about the oil relocator. sorry to hear about your bike, i guess an offseason does have some advantages. what kind of front tire do you run i have problems with my metzler sliding out on stoppies and endos. before spring it will have a bridgestone bt-012. hope that works better.
