Attn geared GSXR 600 riders
I would like to gear my bike so that I can clutch up some 2nd gears, but dont know how many teeth. I still want to be able to ride fast so I dont want the bike to top out at 85 mph. So what would you suggest as far as that goes. Plus, did you find it easier to clutch em up after you geared it? Thanks!

it'll come up stock in 2nd gear.. if you want to gear it start by going one down up front though

No way...I think I got a junked clutch or something, it clutches no problem in 1st and bounces in 2nd, but its like it falls on its face when I clutch 2nd! I mean I've even wrang the damn things neck and it still falls on its face! Its irritating as hell....I've had 4 other riders ride it and they all say the same thing. Unless you have some suggestions....
and you mean go down one in the front and nothing in the rear?? Will that make a difference?

that'll definetley make a diff.. start with one down.. if you want more then go 2 or 3 up in the rear

dude i have the same bike and when it was stock you could clutch second and third...it just takes gettin used to. 1st it pretty much will wheelie no matter what you do w/ the clutch, second needs a lil learning sometimes. if ya want to bring it to ma, or if ur goin to the show in PA then i'll show ya. 1 down in the front will make a difference and it won't kill your top end, i went down 2 in the front and i really like that..it would still do 140 ish so it was fine w/ me. now i'm 2 down 10 up so i'm not doin 140 anymore.
i would doubt that you have a clutch problem unless you really ride the sh*t out of the clutch, my bike has 8000 stuntin miles and it works great, my friends gixxer 6 has over 15000 mi and he is still on his stock cluch too. make sure you have the proper free play in the lever that could be a problem to. if it is too tight then it won't let the clutch fully engage.
well good luck i'm sure you'll get it just practice practice practice

Hey Ridin Disorder,
I think you might have a point about the clutch play...i never thought about that. I have it set really far out so I could clutch all the time with 1 finger. I think im gonna set the play a little more and then try it. I'll let you know! Thanks!

well, I adjusted the clutch to have a little more play in it...it didn't make a difference. Oh well, I think i'll just gear it and then I won't always have to be going 50 to bounce it up! I guess if I'm gonna get a ticket for wheeling, I dont want a speeding ticket too. Anybody else that has had this same issue and has tips, let me know.
