(Honda F4i) 2nd or 3rd gear for highway standup wheelies??

I have a stock Honda F4i, and wanted to know what gear should I be trying on the highway for Standup wheelies. Right now I am bouncing and clutching at the same time in 2nd gear and can only ride the wheelie for about 100 yards. PLEASE HELP ME. MY GOAL IS TO TAKE THE BIKE ONE MILE.

it is very possible to do 1 mile in 2nd gear.... but once you get it up in 3rd you probably wont ever go back.... 3rd gear is the cherry gear for me..... but i dont want to waste all that rpm bringin it up in 3rd so i bring it up in 2nd and switch to 3rd gear.... i suggest you do it taht way too.

well the first thing is stick to one bounce or clutch. 2nd gear clutch it at 5gs if you want to go farther go higher. on the real BP is where you feel like your going over. and yo K i went to 3rd but i went back to 2nd. i still got some long ones. or do i?

Anyone out there can do 3 miles if they just practice more. Distance is all about how high the wheelie is. 2nd gear is more than enough. If you want to go further clutch it, it brings it up faster and more predictable. Bounce it if you want to save your clutch. Once you get better you should be able to not sped up and keep them at around 65-70 mph in 2nd. I used to think I had it at bp when I was speeding up in second going bout 3/4 mile. Now I bring them up at 60-65 keep them at 65-70 and don't have to put em down till tired. Keep working on it you'll get it.

Ohh yea when you get them that high it's easier to take corners and always cover your rear brake.

I also agree with the bounce up in second shift to 3rd method....it always worked for me and you wont run out of gear. The wind starts to hold you in balance point

if you can do a 1mile wheelie the you should be able to go for days on one wheel as long as you can take turns.
