The plates were titanium, And if you watch close alot of the sparks are digitally altered, but steel will work too, aluminum wont throw sparks

You can use just about any steel. For a quick and easy fix just screw steel screws into the heels of your shoes. It works pretty good, I was shooting sparks about 6-7 feet behind me. The only bad thing about that is it doesn't last for very long. The stuff you want to use is titanium!! Not cheap but it lasts long and sparks good. If you want something cheaper just use regular stainless or something. All you need is just a small square and attach it to your heel. It freaks people out at night!!!

I screw in stainless steel squares on my heels like Timex said, or even washers on the tips of the toe so you can just drag your toes to spark. You can use any scrap metal you find, but I found these rectangle plates at HomeDepot in the electric section for like .19 Cents and they have spikes on either side you can hammer in, screw them in all around as well or they will fall out.. A buddy of mine has recently been making steel plates that you can clip on the whole bottom side of the shoe, but I like to have some rubber exposed to I can have traction when I stop and put my feet down.

Also you can go buy a pair of dirt bike boots they have the tips metal covered.

Actually I've heard Magnesium is the best to use. It produces way more sparks and won't wear as fast.

I'll have to check out those plates from home depot. That sound pretty slick.
