cutting down a 954 can?

cutting down a 954 can?

i would like to cut down a 954 can....the first one i did i cut in half but i lost the top part that sticks out of the end cap cause i put the end cap that rivets on top of it on the bottom half...anybody know how to do it where i can keep the top part and the bottom part?

well i got the idea from darius but i guess the endcap has the turndown built onto it on the R1...the 954 isn't like that

The problem with the 929 (and 954 too, I think) is that the ends are welded on. There's no rivets.

cut around the weld on the end, then cut the can, then line the cap back on and weld it back on.....easy to do if you have an aluminum welder.

you might be able to take it to an exhaust shop and ask them to do it for you for a couple bucks.

54 can is TI...i was talking about the question asked towards the 29's that don't have rivets holding the end cap on.

for you guys that have done this to the 929 or 954, did you have to change the jetting, or powercommander map at all, any studdering in power because of it?

any difference in sound

I have a full system, but was thinking of going back to stock to get the torque back down low.
