First off, I swing my left leg over the tank and ride side-saddle for a quick moment, still holding onto the bars.
Once in this position, swing your right leg over the seat and put it down on the left peg, which is now on your right. You can then drop your left foot onto the other peg.
Slowly let go of the handlebars and be VERY conscious of your body weight balance, face backwards and give your buds the finger, or some other inappropiriate gesture.
The tricky part is riding it out a long ways with your hand on the throttle. DO NOT give it too much gas, that's the lesson I learned last Friday. After a few flawless attempts, I gave it too much gas and the bike jerked forward, my azzcheeks slid off the tank halfway, and one foot came off the peg, and I slid more, and I couldn't recove in time... I ended up swerving back and forth a couple times (on a closed road) before my bike slowed down to like 10mph, and it hopped a curb and layed down. I fell off backwards onto my feet and rolled onto my butt and the only thing that happened to me was a torn wallet pocket on my capri shorts!
If anything goes wrong, just turn your torso around and grab the handle bars normally. Don't wear capri shorts if you're planning on falling either. Or at all, for that matter, unless you like men. (I'm not gay, they're just comfy riding shorts that don't reveal knees when I ride.)
