power or clutch??

what's goin' on kid?? Are you trying to bring it up using the clutch or powering it up?? Clutching it up takes a certain talent in timing that I am still trying to master, but powering it up takes no effort... just open the throttle up real quick and shut it off so the front end loads down and then open that sumbitch all the way up when the front end is down... it will come up for sure..... I practice the timing by doing short bunny wheelies.. and then when you got a open road bring it up and ride it out...

you can also bounce it up, but try the power wheelie first...

just clutch it in second, you would be suprised at how smooth it comes up. Lot smoother and more controlable than first.

Good luck

Just start at a low rpm and work your way up. Honestly I don't pay attention to the rpms or speed, I just do it.

i also have a 2003 gixxer and when i first got it back in april for a first gear stand up wheelie i would be at around 5 or 6 grand and doin exactly what silver_back said by cuttin the throttle and loading the front and and then wack it. 2nd gear is definitely a lot smoother i was bringin those up at around 7 grand back in the day. Now i have -2 in the front so 1st it just powers up and 2nd and 3rd i just fan the clutch a bit and it comes up nice and smooth

You dont need to regear your bike. You just need to practice. A 600 will come up no problem in first and second.

I tried learning by myself and I went over too far. I am ok but the bike substained $6996.00 worth of damage. The bike does have enough power stock to bring it up. I was bringing them up in first for about 100-150 yards before this little accident. Good luck though and be careful first is twitchy. Lookin for as fifty to practice on now.

I also have a 03 600 and have no problem in 1st gear. I have noticed that out of the 600's, the GSXR is quite a bit harder in the higher gears. I've figured out the 2nd gears though. Find where the power really picks up in second. Then in second, rolling the gas on, right before you hit the power, stand up, bounce it, and nail the throttle at the same time. Then to get a good roll out of it, wait until it goes high enough that you are uncomfortable, then go a little higher. Then its just a game of tickling the throttle just enough to keep it there. It should be money once you get that down.

Big up to GSXR 600's!! :YEAH
