got a 98 zx6r ,my frames just cracked on one of the sides near were the tank sits ,heard they were proper weak and was expecting it ,just not as soon as this ,i havent even abused the bike that bad .i would upgrade to a better bike but just dont have the money at the min so im thinking i shud get hold of another frame and weld plates over the weak parts,and basicly beef it up,then transfer all parts onto it,i can ally tig but havent got any experience in welding bike frames,read on here about ppl saying you have to get the frame heat treated straight after welding ,i dont have access to heat treating facility at work so gona have to just weld it,is this gona weaken and soften the frame? am i better off just getting another frame and not modifying it and hope it holds up better than the last one? any helps apreciated .
