Question NO SPARK need help

Bike is an 02 yzf 600. Previously it would die randomly when hot and not start for a while maybe 30 minutes or so. have replaced the ECU and a relay, only one avaliable "yamaha relay assy". So now my friend bought it and we went through every connection with test lite, and both coil packs have power to them, but no spark out.
Could it be that both coils are bad and completely done now together at once?
Or could it be some thing up stream electrically like the IGNITOR UNIT ASSY?
What other causes are there as well as solutions and things to check?
bottom line no spark and I don't know what else to check.

Re: NO SPARK need help

never really did any work on that bike joe but i would think there is something like a pick up coil that triggers the coil to spark ? if it's bad it doesnt send the signal to trigger the coil ..

crank trigger or pick up coil may not be the right name for it but it's what i have always called it ..

Re: NO SPARK need help

I think that IGNITOR UNIT ASSY as listed in bike bandit schematics is what your talking about I think it's also called the CDI.
"dont flame be but is the spark plug old?" no I stuck my wiener in the coil wire, no spark between us, lol. Really though used an extra plug grounded to check.

Re: NO SPARK need help

Just bought a CDI on Ebay. The cdi is basically the distributor, A capacitor that charges and fires the spark. 102 dollars hope it's the anwser.
