when moving in gear does it still make noise, is the bike in neutral when you hear the tic, new exhaust put on lately? oil level? what type of oil you using, chain tension?

let some one listen to it that knows what they are listening for ..

the easiest way to tell if its a cam chain tensioner is to hold the revs at about 7 grand in neutral then when you let go of the throttle it will rattle more as it idles down , do it with the bike up to temp

valve tic will usually match the revves meaning the tick will speed up with the revves the only problem is some times the exhaust will drown out the tick so you may not be able to tell unless you are using a stethoscope

Kawasaki's have noisy valves stock, but most of the sound you hear is going to be cam chain/tensioner if your bike has over 5k miles.
