06 636 advice

tried circles, dropped bike on a curb didnt have a cage on it . i broke the stator cover in pieces, took that off and realized i f'd the stator also. the housing (or whatever its called) that the stator fits into is bent also. ok those i can get here and there for a few bucks nothing too expensive. BUT the damn lower case is broke also (see the pics) see where the cover bolts on, can i have someone aluminum weld and fill the gap then drill and tap it? also it looks a little bent as well, the gears in there are not touching the case but im not sure if its bent enough that when i put a new cover on it it wont line up. any advice and help please

im pretty sure you can have that welded. ive seen ppl just use jb weld on it too. and good luck findining a cheap stator and rotor... i did that to my first 636 and the parts retail at 389 dollars each!! i got lucky and found a racer guy in texas to sell me both for 200.

Re: 06 636 advice

i wouldnt jb weld it my experiances with jb weld are that its not a long time fix. its a "get home" fix lol. there is a high performance engine building shop down here in sioux city that would weld it up pretty cheap had the guy do a couple of mine. see if there is anything like that closer to you. and good luck on getting stator and rotor Expensive get a used set lol
