08 RR leakin oil

Dropped the bike last weekend, and its been leakin oil from somewhere. I finally got it all cleaned up and it seemed okay when I let it idle.
But it looks like theres still some oil coming from here.......
right above my rear set, from that tube

Re: 08 RR leakin oil

Dude, you have oil in your airbox leaking down. When your bike rolled it pumped oil in the airbox. I told you this, mang!

Re: 08 RR leakin oil

i thought that oil would've like cleared itsself out by now..

well i got to lookin and i found the leak...i cracked the engine case (if thats a word) on the right side....where my sick cage was loose, it got pushed up and cracked the casing and thats where all the oil is coming from..

is that gonna be a crazy expensive fix?

Re: 08 RR leakin oil

If its the place where your oil fill thing is in the bottom right of your pic its your CLUTCH COVER. I think I see some damage to it behind the cage.
Thank god its not your engine case, cause yeah thats a lot of money, Clutch covers are less than $100. Remember to get a new gasket if it calls for one too (although I dont think the new RRs use one)

And dont be lazy, take the tank and the air filter box off and clean it out well. You dont want oil on you brakes or tires

The tube you described on your rearset is your brake light switch and does not contain oil. If there is oil on it its likely coming from the airbox like your buddy says.

Keep the cage tight

If you need one contact someone on this site for a possible better price. Maybe "Sketchy" can hook you up

Re: 08 RR leakin oil

can you post some more pics of your bike 'cause no offense but it seems like you need some help inspecting the crash damage.
Pics of rear caliper, rear brake line and such

**** man... At least it'd be your case cover. I was hoping it wasn't. I really need to see it in person, bro. Got tied up this weekend. Sorry I wasn't around, man.

Re: 08 RR leakin oil

jb weld will hold oil

but on a 08?

If you can't afford a new clutch cover, how are you affording gas insurance and bike payment?
