USA ECU F4i

Hey guys, just a quick question:

Here in the UK our f4is have a H.I.S.S ignition system, meaning that each ecu is locked to a chip in a key, so to replace an ECU we need to replace the chip (very expensive).

I read somewhere that over there you guys don't have this system and can just plug any ECU into your bike and it will run.

Is this true? If it is I'm gonna be able to ride again as I'm way too broke to be paying retail for a new ECU and key!

Cheers.

Damn. That'd ruin my money-saving cunningness!

Cheers Roger, you're like the Dhali lama of stunting.

Can anyone confirm the ignition thing? Or point me to an ebay advert selling everything I'd need to get my bike going.

Re: USA ECU F4i

Oh ffs lol.

Apparantly I can use an American ECU and put a diode into one of the ignition wires to make it run. Will have to look into it.

Re: USA ECU F4i

you will need a US barrel, a US ECU and a US harness for that to work mate....

eBay for most, wont cost a fortune considering the UK->US exchange rate
