636 oil light....

anyone have issues with these....i have an 06 and cant figure out why the light is on....everything seems tp be ok

no i dont know exactly how to do the whole ghetto reader thing.....but someone mentioned to me that the 636's have an issue with this an the oil light seems to always be on????

read the reply "the ghetto way" i dont know the right way to get codes from a bike...i know thier is a way to do it with a paperclip and blinking light or some ****....anyway does no one have a real honest answer?

loosen the oil filter until it seeps out a little (while running) then re-tighten.

Also, it could be the oil pressure switch. I had 2 03' 636's and the switch went out on both. On the 03-04's its on the front of the crankcase, behind the header on the right side with 1 wire running to it

got it my buddy said to try the same thing...like an air pocket in there losen the filter and let it run....thanks we will see if thats it

OK so i tried this i even took the filter all the way off and there is no oil coming out??? how long should it run before oil comes out? i shut the bike off pretty quick cuz if the pumps bad i dont wanna screw this engine up

No oil? have you check to see if there's enough oil in the engine?
