Landing Wheelies

im new to stunting. only been riding 500 miles. anyway i can pull wheelies no problem. and ride them for awhile, ive hit the balance point a few times. anyway when i land i always get wobble in my bars. sometimes bad, sometimes not to bad, but its always there and kinda scary. i have a 03 R6 wich is twitchy to begin with from what i hear. and i dont have a damper i know thats part of the problem too. my buddy was telling me you have to slam wheelies down and then they wont wobble. sounds strange to me so i thought i would ask. should i slam it or set it down easy?

for christs sake dont slam your front wheel down or you will spend most of your time fixing your steering head and replacing fork seals. A steering damper will help and the faster you are going the more stable you will be. I have a 02 R6 and I am getting pretty good at wheelies, just keep at it and take it slow.

i would look at the tire presure if its to high it can act like a bouncing basketball and that might be part of the prob. i run like 29lbs in my front

For high speed wheelies I basically go wide open on the throttle right before setting 'em down in order to lighten up the front wheel.

Get a damper too

yea, liek the rest said, get the damper(i'm too cheap to get one but tis' good adice, haha) and blimp the throttle comming down. I'm new to wheelies so have hit the rev limiter and had my front end come crashing down, not a good thing, lol.

yea, they come with them but they suck. My 750 has the stock one and I get worse wobble on that than my 900 with no damper

I 100% agree with Nags. I also gas it righe before the bike touches down. And with an R6 definately get a damper anyone I know that has one has headshake problems.

definitely get a damper. you must be letting the front end slam down because my damper was off last week adn I didn't have any problem. set it down easy next time by rolling the throttle.

my 03 gixxer 6 gets no head shake, I mostly do slow **** though. I am getting a sprint damper on Mon. Its 200 bux and my shop has them in stock. MPZ rocks em so I thought I would try them out. You should have gotten a gixxer.
